Hi, everyone. I love photography. It has been a part of my life for so long that I am not sure I can remember a time when I didn't have a camera in my hands. I'm not originally from Texas, but I got here as fast as I could!
Life experience has taught me what to focus on -- and my main focus is to capture authentic and genuine moments for a lifetime of memories. These momentary glimpses into the lives of others is the platform on which I build my art. I love bringing my creative energy and a joyful, enthusiastic spirit into every shoot, big or small. With over 20 years of experience, and the only photographer in Texarkana to win the coveted "Best Wedding Photographer" award from The Knot, we will capture the emotions of the moment -- whether that is for your family, your children, or your pets.
For the past 7 years, I took a break and opened several new businesses. In the past 2 years, I realized how much I missed this creative outlet. Although I was able to utilize my skills in my magazine -- ALT Magazine here in Texarkana -- it's just not quite the same as the creativity of doing portraits. So here I am. After choosing to return to photography, opening my studio back up, and gaining many new clients, I decided to also share that knowledge.
Throughout the years, I have taught both one-on-one photography, as well as in the classroom setting. Teaching photography, website design, graphic design, and Adobe Creative Cloud programs, I love sharing my skills with others to help them cultivate their own talent. Whether teaching one person, standing in a classroom at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, or hosting a workshop, the years of experience I have accumulated are transferred to others. Years of experience are put into my classes -- as I told one of them recently, I believe I owned the very first version of Adobe Photoshop! LOL Helping others is a joy I will always cultivate.
Whether helping capture your moments, or helping you learn a skill you will love, I love what I am doing. I have always been competitive and want to be the best at whatever I am involved in. Here are a few awards I have won along the way...
